Rolleiflex, Planar 2.8 lens, TriX
Twin lens cameras make you shoot differently, twin lens cameras make you work. My twin lens camera forces me get images I would never otherwise get.
Yashica's and Mamiya C330's can be had for a song, Rolleiflex's a little more. A worthy investment either way.
So funny. I was just looking at TLRs on Ebay. I want a Zeiss Ikon to go with the other two I have.
ReplyDeleteI have an Automat myself and love it. Would love to get a 2.8F at some point. Tough to beat the qualities of a Planar.
ReplyDeleteI scrolled through your blog and you have some really impressive work here. The light you capture, clean whites in your color shots and gorgeous tonality in your black & white is superb. I could learn a thing or two just from looking at your images.
You can also consider a Rolleiflex T or later Rolleicord if you budget is tight.
ReplyDeleteI have both a T and a 3,5F (with the stuinning Xenotar)the T is a much underated camera IMHO wirh in operation is similar to the F but uses the cheaper filters and hoods of the 'cord.

Excellent work Richard!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of this image.
I work with a Rolleiflex TLR myself and prefer it over any other.
